My dad called me today and we had a conversation about my new job and money and things and basically he said he was proud of me and all that dad stuff that dads say. And we talked about how I’m making enough money to be above the poverty line now and that I’m afraid of making more money and no longer being poor and he told me that as long as I keep my working class values and help others where I can that there’s nothing wrong with making enough money to be able to take care of my kids comfortably. And it made an impact because I’ve always struggled with the idea of making more money than I need (I’m not making more than I need now but the position I am in now has the potential to achieve that). Anyway I don’t talk to my dad much and I don’t like him for a lot of things but sometimes he is a really good dad.
